Athens Mental Health Inc., dba The Gathering Place not only serves members and individuals with lived experience from Athens County, Ohio, with daily services and programming as a peer recovery center while also operating a Level II co-occurring recovery house, but they have become a regional lead for advocating for the peer voice and other social justice issues such as homelessness and the need for trauma informed care within our institutions that serve the general public. We have been involved with a variety of local, regional and state-wide initiatives in the last several years.
