There are all levels of experience, talent (whatever you want to call it?) in art. All skill levels are welcome and invited to explore “Art Might Help” group. In fact, I think the primary focus of the group should be on the beginner artist, or those who haven’t explored art at all. They may eventually find that artwork is a satisfying activity for their lives? I certainly DON’T want people/participants to feel any fear of being ‘outdone’ by those with more experience in art. I don’t want the group to become a clique or a competition. The purpose should be to discover and practice art as a potential, and as a personal, therapy or exploration for group members. It’s not a class – It’s a group. I’m not a teacher- I’m a facilitator, an encourager. And you are not a ‘student’ you are an equal member of the group, with an equal voice. Some may find that art just isn’t what they want get involved in now. That’s fine. Others might discover something amazing for themselves. So, What I want for this new group is simply to feel welcome and included, and equal in this new group. How can I say ‘I don’t like brussels sprouts’ until I’ve first actually tried them, right? Thanks, Pete
